Black and White Colors part 1

Aqua took a red rose and stuck it between her teeth. “So,” she said, “Why did we all go out and buy black and white shoes again?” Mercy straightened her back. “Actually, we were SUPPOSED to all go out and get black and white VANS, but SOME of us got CONVERSE,” she said in an irritated voice. Marly popped her black gum, “Aw heck, will you guys get off my case? I mean, I was gonna get vans, but seriously these things were just CALLING OUT TO ME!” I turned over onto my back and stared at the red and black sealing of Polka’s. “What does it matter anyway? They’re still black and white,” I said. Mercy rolled her eyes, “Whatever.”

Four weeks ago, we had all met up at Polka’s  to talk about what we would do to stay in contact over winter break, ‘cause at William’s, winter break lasts all December long. Everyone always gets jealous of us William’s kids ‘cause we get a month long winter break and our summer break is just as long as everyone else’s. The reason for this is that our school only has one teacher for each grade. Three of those four teachers spend three and a half weeks every December visiting who knows who in who knows where, and no one can stop them. You might think that the principal could fire them for just not showing up, but there is no principal at William’s. Nothing but 127 students, four teachers, a cook, and a janitor. Pathetic, I know.
